India secured a decisive six-wicket victory in the second T20I against Afghanistan, clinching the series with one match remaining. However, the celebratory mood among fans is tempered by the concerning form of Rohit Sharma, who has come under intense scrutiny for his lackluster performance with the bat.

Despite the team’s success, Rohit’s struggles at the crease have raised eyebrows within the cricketing fraternity, prompting former cricketer Murali Kartik to express his disappointment. The veteran did not mince words as he criticized the right-handed batter for what he deemed a sloppy run of form.

Karthik opined on Rohit’s performance, acknowledging the skipper’s two consecutive ducks in the T20 series but intriguingly expressing confidence that he wouldn’t be overly concerned. The former spinner highlighted Rohit’s return to the T20 format after a prolonged period and his role as captain. He noted the juggernaut’s run-out in the first game and getting bowled in the second but commended India’s overall performance in the series.

“The only failure has been the skipper. Two naughts in two games but he wouldn’t be too worried about that. Back in this format after a long time. Back as captain. He was run out in the first game. Tried to hit a big one today and lost his stumps but India have done well,” Kartik said on commentary,” Kartik said while doing commentary during the recently concluded Indore clash.

Rohit got dismissed by a run-out because of a sloppy misunderstanding between him and Shubman Gill in the first encounter at Hyderabad. However, things did not change in the second clash as the stalwart got cleaned up on a stunning delivery bowled by Afghan seamer Fazlhaq Farooqui, departing on a second consecutive duck.
