The dates and venue for the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023 final have been confirmed by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

The grand finale of the 2021-23 WTC cycle is scheduled at The Oval, London from June 7 to 11 with a reserve day in place (June 12). New Zealand had won the inaugural edition of WTC, defeating India by eight wickets in the 2021 final at the Rose Bowl in Southampton.

Currently, two strong contenders to play the final are Australia and India. Australia are at the top in the WTC 2021-23 points table with 136 points and win percentage of 75.56 while India stands behind them with 99 points and win percentage of 58.93. Both sides are competing in the four-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy with an eye of the WTC final.

Sri Lanka (53.33%) and South Africa (48.72%), who are occupying the third and fourth positions respectively, have a chance to play the summit clash. Sri Lanka have two away Tests against New Zealand remaining in the ongoing cycle, while South Africa’s last assignment is the two-match home series against West Indies.
