Team India opener Shubman Gill and the reports of his affair with Bollywood actress Sara Ali Khan have hit the headlines ever since he featured on Preeti and Neeti Simoes’ popular Punjabi talk show ‘Dil Diyan Gallan.’

During the show, Gill dropped hints about his relationship with Sara. He named Sara as the fittest female actor in Bollywood and responded “May be” when Punjabi actress Sonam Bajwa, also the host of the show, quizzed Gill ‘Are you dating Sara?’

Amid all this, a picture of the right-handed shaking hands with Sonam has gone viral on social media, and the model-turned-actress has responded to the fan’s claim.

After Gill’s sublime double century against New Zealand in the Hyderabad ODI, fans started connecting the dots and builded up a fictional story between the cricketer and the Punjabi diva. Reacting to the image shared by one of the fans on the micro-blogging website Twitter, Sonam cleared the air and even teased Gill with the name of his alleged girlfriend Sara.

Retweeting the image, Sonam wrote, “Ye sara ka sara jhoot hai.”

Meanwhile, Gill achieved a record feat recently as he became the fastest Indian to complete 1000 runs in ODI cricket. The Punjab lad took just 19 innings to surpass Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan – both of them reached to the 1000-run mark in 24 innings.

In the first ODI of the three-match series versus New Zealand, Gill became the youngest player to score a double century. The 23-year-old smashed 208 runs off just 149 balls in India’s massive total of 349/8. His scintillating knock was laced with 19 fours and nine sixes. The second game of the 50-overs rubber will be played in Raipur on Saturday, January 21.
