While the cricketers found solace in the divine atmosphere of Mahakaleshwar Mandir, it is also noteworthy that India emerged victorious in the second game against Afghanistan in Indore, sealing the series.

Afghanistan’s fight​

Winning the toss, India chose to bowl first, setting Afghanistan a challenging target. The Afghan team faced a daunting task, posting a total of 172 runs in their allotted 20 overs. Gulbadin Naib emerged as the standout performer with a scintillating knock of 57 runs off 35 balls, including five fours and four sixes. However, the Indian bowlers, led by Arshdeep Singh, took crucial wickets at regular intervals.

India seal the series​

In response, India displayed a dominant batting performance, effortlessly chasing down the target. Yashasvi Jaiswal‘s spectacular innings of 68 runs off 34 balls set the tone for India’s successful run chase. Shivam Dube‘s quickfire 63 off 32 balls also contributed significantly. India secured a commendable six-wicket win, clinching the series with two consecutive victories.

Axar Patel‘s stellar all-around performance earned him the well-deserved title of Player of the Match, highlighting India’s formidable cricketing prowess.
